Mini Kids Summer Breeze Top – Crochet Pattern
Materials:
> U.S I/9 – 5.5mm Crochet Hook
> Stylecraft Special Aran / Any Worsted Weight Yarn – 428 yards
> Photographed in colour ‘Lemon’
> Darning Needle – To weave in ends
Pattern Specifications:
> Gauge – 12.36 dc and 7 rows = 4 inches (10cm)
>> 6.18 dc = 2 inches
> Size – Mini Kids – 1-2 Years
> Finished Dimensions – Width – 12.5 inches, Circumference – 25 inches, Length – 15 inches
PATTERN
Make 2:
R1. Ch55, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in next ch * Skip next 3 chains, work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch, skip next 3 chains, 1dc in next 3 chains * Repeat across, turn
R2-R22. Ch3 (counts as 1dc from here and throughout) 1dc in next 2dc sts * Work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, skip next 2dc, 1dc in next 3dc * Repeat across ending with last dc in top of turning ch, turn
First Shoulder:
R23. Ch3, 1dc in next 2dc sts, work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, skip next 2dc, 1dc in next 3dc, turn
R24. Ch3, 1dc in next 2dc sts, work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, skip next 2dc, 1dc in next 2dc, 1dc in top of turning ch
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Second Shoulder:
R23. Locate the last st of row 23 of first shoulder, skip next 18dc sts, join yarn in next st, ch1 (does not count as a stitch) 1dc in same st, 1dc in next 2sts, work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, skip next 2dc, 1dc in next 2dc, 1dc in top of turning ch, turn
R24. Ch3, 1dc in next 2dc sts, work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, skip next 2dc, 1dc in next 3dc
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Joining:
> Lay both pieces flat on top of each other with wrong sides facing outwards.
> Seam up all 12sts on both shoulders using needle and yarn. Fasten off and weave in ends.
> To seam sides together, use needle and yarn, leaving the top 8 rows unworked for armholes, seam downwards on both sides ( I used the mattress stitch to give more of a seamless finish )
Fasten off and weave in ends.
