Mini Kids Slouch – Crochet Pattern
Materials and Tools:
> U.S. 11 – 8.00 mm crochet hook
> U.S. 13 – 9.00 mm crochet hook
> Lion Brand WoolEase Thick & Quick Yarn / Any Super Bulky Weight Yarn – Linen – 110 yards
> x1 1 inch wooden button
> Stitch Marker
> Darning Needle – To weave in ends
Finished Measurements Approx:
> Toddler 1-2 years
> 18-19 inch Circumference
Gauge:
> 8dc and 4 rows = 4” / 10cm (9mm hook)
Special Note:
> Do not join rounds unless otherwise stated, use a stitch marker to locate first stitch of each round
Pattern
9mm crochet hook:
R1. Ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hook (8sc)
R2. 2sc in each st around (16sc)
R3. 2sc in first st * 1sc in next st, 2sc in next st * Repeat around (24sc)
R4. 2sc in first st * 1sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next st * Repeat around (32sc)
R5. 2sc in first st * 1sc in next 7sts, 2sc in next st * Repeat around (36sc)
R6. 2sc in first st * 1sc in next 8sts, 2sc in next st * Repeat around (40sc)
R7. 2sc in first st * 1sc in next 9sts, 2sc in next st * Repeat around (44sc)
R8-R11. 1sc in each st around (44sc)
R12. Sc2tog over first 2sts * 1sc in next 9sts, sc2tog over next 2sts * Repeat around (40sts)
R13-R15. 1sc in each st around (40sc)
Change to 8mm crochet hook:
R16. Fphdc around first sc post * Bphdc around next sc post, Fphdc around next sc post * Repeat around (40sts)
R17-R18. Fphdc around first post * Bphdc around next post, Fphdc around next post * Repeat around (40sts)
R19. 1sc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg sc (40sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends. Secure button to brim of hat.
