Mini Kids Knit Flower Headwarmer – Knitting/Crochet Pattern
Materials and Tools:
> Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick Yarn – Cobalt – Headwarmer / Any Super Bulky Weight Yarn – 80 yards
> Darning Needle – To weave in ends
Finished Measurements Approx:
> Toddler 1-2 years
> 18-19 inch Circumference
Gauge:
> 10 stitches and 14 rows = 4” / 10cm
Gauge taken in stockinette stitch
Special Note:
> This headwarmer is worked in the round
> Place a marker at the beginning of your work and slip the marker before beginning each round
Pattern
Headwarmer – 8mm circular needle:
R1. Cast on 40sts, Knit around
R2-R5. * Knit 2, Purl 2 * Repeat around
R6-R11. Knit around
R12-R15. * Knit 2, Purl 2 * Repeat around
Bind off and weave in loose ends.
Crochet Flower: 8mm crochet hook:
R1. Ch3, join with a slip stitch to beg ch to form a ring, ch2 (counts as 1hdc) work 9hdc in ring, join with a slip stitch to beg hdc (10hdc)
R2. Ch2 (counts as 1dc) 4dc in same st as ch2 * Slip stitch into next st, 5dc in next st * Repeat around, ending with a slip stitch in last st, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (5 petals)
R3. Ch1 (does not count as a stitch) 1sc in same st, 1sc in next 4dc * Slip stitch into the top of the next slip stitch from previous round, 1sc in next 5dc * Repeat around ending with a slip stitch in last slip stitch from previous round, join with a slip stitch to top of first sc ( 5 petals)
Fasten off and attach flower to headband securely and weave in all ends.
