Mini Kids Swing Top – Crochet Pattern
Materials:
> U.S K/10 ½ – 6.5mm Crochet Hook
> Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice / Any Worsted Weight Yarn – Colour A – Fisherman – 85 yards
> Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice / Any Worsted Weight Yarn – Colour B – Radiant Yellow -170 yards
> Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice / Any Worsted Weight Yarn – Colour C – Lime – 85 yards
> Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice / Any Worsted Weight Yarn – Colour D – Fern – 85 yards
> x2 Large buttons
> Darning Needle – To weave in ends
Pattern Specifications:
> Gauge – 12.4 dc and 7 rows = 4 inches (10cm) >> 6.2 dc = 2 inches
> Size – Mini Kids – 1-2 Years
> Finished Dimensions – Width – 13.5 inches, Circumference – 27 inches, Length – 11.5 – 12 inches (Not including straps)
PATTERN
R1. Using Colour A Ch60, join with a slip stitch to beg ch to form a ring, ch1 (does not count as a stitch) 1sc in each ch st around, join with a slip stitch to beg sc (60sc)
R2. Change to colour B Ch2 (counts as 1dc from here and throughout) * 2dc in next st, 1dc in next st * Repeat around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R3-R10. Ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R11. Change to colour A ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R12. Change to colour C ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R13-R15. Ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R16. Change to colour A ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R17. Change to colour D ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R18. Ch2, 1dc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg dc (90dc)
R19-R20. Ch1 (does not count as a stitch) 1sc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg sc (90sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Band:
R1. Join yarn to first chain st on row 1 of top, ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) 1sc in same st, 1sc in each chain st around, join with a slip stitch to beg sc (60sc)
R2. Ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) 1sc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to beg sc (60sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
First Strap:
R1. Counting from the first stitch of band, skip 7sts, join yarn in next st, ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) 1sc in same st, 1sc in next 3sts, turn (4sc)
R2-R20. Ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) 1sc in next 4sts, turn (4sc) (Make sure you turn after row 20) R21. Locate the last stitch of row 1 of strap and skip 12sts of band, now you will slip stitch through the first stitch of strap and through the 12th stitch you just skipped, slip stitch through next st of strap and through the 11th stitch you skipped on band, carry on until all 4sts of the strap is attached to the front of the top. Slip stitch into next st of the band, which should be the 8th stitch you originally skipped.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Second Strap:
R1. Locate the first st of band, counting to the right (opposite way to first strap skip next 10sts, join yarn in next st, ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) 1sc in same st, 1sc in next 3sts (working towards first strap) turn (4sc)
R2-R20. Ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) 1sc in next 4sts, turn (4sc) (Make sure you turn after row 20)
R21. Locate the first st of row 1 of second strap and skip 7sts of band (counting to the right) now you will slip stitch through first stitch of strap and through next st of band, slip stitch through next st of strap and through next st of band, carry on until all 4sts of the strap is attached to the front of the top, slip stitch into next stitch of the band.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing:
Sew button onto each seam of strap on the front of the top and weave in ends.
