Baby Stripe Bonnet – Crochet Pattern
Materials Required:
> Any DK Weight Yarn – Stylecraft Special DK Yarn (list below)
> Colour A – Citron – 322 yards
> Colour B – Saffron – 322 yards
> Colour C – Fondant – 322 yards
> Colour D – Magenta – 322 yards
> Colour E – Cloud Blue – 322 yards
> Colour F – Aspen – 322 yards
> Colour G – Cream – 322 yards
> Tapestry Needle / Darning Needle
> Tape Measure
> Scissors
Gauge:
> N/A
Sizing: 0-6 Months
> 6.5 inch – Width (Approx)
> 7 inch – Height (Approx)
Colour Sequence Notes:
> Each colour is worked for 2 rows each following the colour sequence below.
Colour Sequence:
> Colour A – Citron
> Colour B – Saffron
> Colour C – Fondant
> Colour D – Magenta
> Colour E – Cloud Blue
> Colour F – Aspen
> Colour G – Cream – Only used for ties and joining the bonnet together
Follow the colour sequence starting from row 1 to row 14 repeating the colour sequence pattern above.
Pattern:
R1. Ch61, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across, turn (60dc)
R2-R14. Ch1 (does not count as a stitch) Work 1dc in each st across, turn (60dc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing:
> With Colour G yarn and your work right way up and right side facing, join yarn in bottom right hand corner, work 28sc evenly up the right hand side of work, 1sc in the very first stitch that is across the top of your work, ch61, slip stitch into second ch from hook and in the next 59 chains (tie made) work 1sc in the next stitch across the top of your work and work 1sc in each st across until you get to the last stitch, ch61, slip stitch into second ch from hook and in the next 59 chains (tie made) 1sc in the top of last stitch that is across the top of your work. Now work 28sc evenly down the left hand side of your work.
> Fold your work in half with right side facing outwards and line up the stitches, work 1sc in each st across going through all the stitches front and back to join the bonnet together.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
