Ripple Cushion – Crochet Pattern
Materials Required:
> U.S. 6 – 4mm Crochet Hook
> Any DK Weight Yarn – Stylecraft Special DK Yarn (list below)
> Colour A – Clematis – 322 yards
> Colour B – Fondant – 322 yards
> Colour C – Bright Pink – 322 yards
> Colour D – Pomegranate- 322 yards
> Colour E – Shrimp – 322 yards
> Colour F – Apricot – 322 yards
> Colour G – Saffron – 322 yards
> Colour H – Citron – 322 yards
> Colour I – Aspen – 322 yards
> Colour J – Sherbert – 322 yards
> Colour K – Cloud Blue – 322 yards
> Colour L – Aster – 322 yards
> Colour M – Magenta – 322 yards
> Colour N – Wisteria – 322 yards
> Colour O – Cream – 322 yards
> 12 Inch Square Cushion Insert
> Tapestry Needle / Darning Needle
> Tape Measure
> Scissors

Colour Sequence Notes:
> Each colour is worked for two rows each by following the colour sequence below.
Colour Sequence:
> Colour A – Clematis
> Colour B – Fondant
> Colour C – Bright Pink
> Colour D – Pomegranate
> Colour E – Shrimp
> Colour F – Apricot
> Colour G – Saffron
> Colour H – Citron
> Colour I – Aspen
> Colour J – Sherbert
> Colour K – Cloud Blue
> Colour L – Aster
> Colour M – Magenta
> Colour N – Wisteria
> Colour O – Cream – Use for border only
Follow the colour sequence starting from row 1 to row 28 repeating the colour sequence pattern above for 2 rows each.
Pattern
Make 2:
R1. Ch61, 2dc in 2nd ch from hook * 1dc in next 3 chains, dc2tog over next 2 chains, dc2tog over next 2 chains, 1dc in next 3 chains, 2dc in next chain, 2dc in next chain * Repeat across until the last 11 chains, 1dc in next 3 chains, dc2tog over next 2 chains, dc2tog over next 2 chains, 1dc in next 3 chains, 2dc in last chain, turn
R2. Ch2, 1dc in same st as ch2 * 1dc in next 3sts, dc2tog over next 2sts, dc2tog over next 2sts, 1dc in next 3sts, 2dc in next st, 2dc in next st * Repeat across until last 11sts, 1dc in next 3sts, dc2tog over next 2sts, dc2tog over next 2sts, 1dc in next 3sts, 2dc in last st, turn
Repeat row 2 until 28 rows have been completed altogether. Do not fasten off, move onto border.
Border:
R1. Changing to Colour O yarn, ch1 (does not count as a stitch) 1sc in each st across until last st, work 3sc in last st (corner made) work 56sc evenly down the left hand side of work, work 3sc in first chain stitch (corner made) 1sc in each chain across until last chain, work 3sc in last chain (corner made) work 56sc evenly up the right hand side of work, work 2sc in the same st as first sc st of border (corner made) join with a slip stitch to beg sc
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing:
> When both ripple pieces are complete, lay them both flat on top of each other with right sides facing outwards and right way up, join Colour O yarn to top right hand corner, slip stitch in each st across the top, down the left hand side and along the bottom to join pieces again (making sure to go through all loops on both pieces, otherwise they won’t join together) Now put the cushion insert inside the ripple pieces and then carry on slip stitching the last side together, join with a slip stitch to beg stitch
Fasten off and weave in ends.
